The Aboyne & Glen Tanar Memorial Hall

Our Background
Aboyne & Glen Tanar Memorial Hall, known locally as The Victory Hall, is set in the heart of Aboyne village in Royal Deeside. Built in 1921, it is a substantial granite building, both inside and out, and it is now a C listed building.
The Hall was built as a war memorial and community centre. It was constructed to honour those who served in the Great War and to provide a space for community gatherings and events. The Hall's design and architecture reflect its historical significance and the community's commitment to preserving its heritage. The Hall's stained glass windows, the names of Remembrance, and the Formaston Room with the ancient Pictish cross slab are examples of its historical value and the dedication to honouring those who fell for their country, as well as those who returned home.
